Hot Reno return with explosive new single + video ‘pray’
The boys are back - Hot Reno return with an explosive new single titled 'Pray'. With heavy guitar riffs, strong drum beats and a mosh-pit anthem of a chorus these guys will have you hooked after the first listen.
We were lucky enough to have a chat to the four-piece, hailing from Goldy, about their track, writing and recording process and of course the best beers and skate spots.
Hey boys how the heck are we, and how’s isolation treating you all?
HARLEY: We have been productive, most of us are still working so not too much has changed. But not playing gigs sucks! Ben got fired.
Now you’ve just released your new single ‘Pray’, tell us a bit about it – how was the writing and recording process, where did the inspiration come from and what does the song mean to you guys?
JACK: It’s one of our first songs we actually wrote back in 2017
HARLEY: It’s kind of about what goes around comes around, kind of like karma. Pray for yourself cause’ you’ve got some shit coming. Pray was recorded in our shed by good mate Hayden Smit who has done our last couple of songs
You’ve also just released this nostalgic mid-90’s-esque music video for ‘Pray’ how did that come about?
HARLEY: The video is just a bunch of clips taken on my Super 8 during our travels and time together. We didn’t have a concept for a video and I had a bunch of footage so i just pieced something together.
It’s honestly such a catchy tune, makes us crave a good old thrashy mosh even more than we already do, what’s the first thing you boys want to do once all of this rona stuff is over?
NICK: Obviously we are really keen to play some shows, to finish our world tour would be great.
JACK: Next stop is China
BEN: I cannot wait to be moshing to our friends bands
We’ve seen some great singles and a banging EP from you guys, tell us what’s next!?
HARLEY: You’ll have to wait and see, but have finished something pretty cool that we will
be releasing after Pray.
