REVIEW: Wildlands Kicks Off 2025 With A Bang!
Brisbane’s Wildlands Festival 2025 was the perfect way to ring in the new year, bringing together an star-studded lineup of artists and an unbeatable festival experience that blended music, culture, and the ultimate Queensland summer vibes seamlessly.
Wildlands has built a reputation for curating diverse, high-energy lineups, and this year was no exception. The festival featured a mix of international superstars and homegrown talent, giving festival-goers a dynamic selection of performances to enjoy.
Fisher brought the sunny fizz-filled vibes early on, setting the perfect tone for the festival with his infectious tech-house beats. His energetic set had the crowd grooving from the get-go, proving once again why he remains a festival favourite. His unmatched ability to blend his upbeat tracks with an equally charismatic and slightly comedic stage presence ensured that festival-goers started their day on a high note. You simply can't help but smile when the Fish hits that stage.


Sammy Virji was next up with his signature wubs, dubs and UKG goodness sending the crowd into a frenzy. His bass-heavy set had the audience and himself jumping around, fully immersed in his set - creating one of the most electrifying moments of the festival.
Switching stages to Australia's favourite anomaly - Confidence Man. The indie-electro sensation, is always standout highlight for us. Their charismatic stage presence and turbulent dance routines are show in themselves, let alone their infectious dance beats which all in all kept spirits soaring.


Indie-rock duo Royel Otis also delivered a stellar set, treating fans to their signature dreamy guitar riffs and smooth vocals. Their performance added a refreshing contrast to the more high-energy acts, allowing the crowd to immerse themselves into a beautiful dream


Sam Alfred was next over on the The Wilds stage where he captivated the sweaty crowd with his distinct sound. His sets, a perfect fusion of 90s house, garage, and techno, felt both spontaneous and meticulously curated. As a fastidious DJ and a rising force in Australian dance music, his performance absorbed the crowd into one singular mass, moving in unison to his thumping four-to-the-floor bangers.
As the night reached its peak, Marlon Hoffstadt delivered a groovy and mesmerizing performance, setting the stage perfectly for the grand finale. Chase & Status took things to another level, closing out the festival with an explosive set featuring their signature drum and bass anthems. To top it all off, their performance was accompanied by a stunning fireworks display, creating a breathtaking moment to welcome the new year in style.
Wildlands Festival proved once again why it’s a staple of the Australian summer festival circuit.
